After growing up working in his father’s concrete business, Austin has always had a passion for starting his own business. Working a short stent in software sales after college proved that a “hands on” line of work was actually better suited for him.
With the dangers of wildfires in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, he dedicated his time to learning about proper fire mitigation strategies and investing in the right tools and equipment to mitigate his own 2 acre mountain property.
He met with local fire authorities, spent hours reading FireWise mitigation strategies, and got to work with a chainsaw & skid steer clearing 50+ dead trees from his 2 acre mountain property following Firewise mitigation strategies.
From there, neighboring property owners began to ask if Austin could perform tree removal & fire mitigation services on their properties.
Through this hands on approach, Bear Claw Land Services was born.

Parry Peak, aka Bear Claw is the iconic landmark mountain in Winter Park, Colorado, where our company was founded.
As an outdoor enthusiast, the Bear Claw name & logo is a consistent reminder to acknowledge the mountains & forests that surround us.
As population increases in our home state, more families & homes will be threatened by wildfires if we don’t take action on cleaning up the Colorado forest.
We’re on a mission to clean up as many dead trees from the forest to protect homes & families from the threat of wildfires while prioritizing a healthy, thriving forest ecosystem for generations to come.
When he's not operating a skid steer, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife Bayleigh & daughter Berkleigh. You can also often find him mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, fly fishing, or archery hunting — basically anything outdoors!
Outside of ripping dead fall into firewood with a Stihl MS 462, you can find Graham slangin' pies in the evening at Hernando's Pizza Pub in Winter Park. He also enjoys skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer.
After training for 5 years under one of the best in the business, Emmanuel is now an expert technical climber & tree feller. If there's a tree close to your home, Emmanuel will make sure it comes down safely.
