About Us

The Bear Claw Story

Josh & Austin met at the local Shell station while filling up diesel tanks.

Austin had recently started his tree removal / fire mitigation business & Josh had purchased a Cat road grader from Bob’s Blade to start his own snow plowing & grading business.

The two exchanged contact information & immediately began referring work to each other. After a year of bringing each other in as sub contractors to help one another on each other’s projects, Josh and Austin decided it was time to join forces and build a team.

From there, Austin began focusing on business development, estimating, & recruiting while Josh focused on leading the field crew & managing projects.

Through this collaborative approach, Bear Claw Land Services was born.

Bear Claw Land Services now owns & operates multiple pieces of specialized forestry equipment including forestry skid steers, masticators, excavators, and chippers to tackle land clearing & fire mitigation projects throughout the Rocky Mountains.

The company also owns & operates a Caterpillar 140G road grader focused on delivering 5 star gravel road grading services in the summer and snow plowing for HOA’s in the winter.

Since joining forces, Josh & Austin have recruited Dani, Josiah, Chase, and Rocky to help deliver 5 star land clearing, fire mitigation, excavation, and grading services in Grand County, Colorado

Bear Claw Mountain in Winter Park, Colorado.

Why "Bear Claw?"

Parry Peak, aka Bear Claw is the iconic landmark mountain in Winter Park, Colorado, where our company was founded.

As outdoor enthusiasts, the Bear Claw name and logo is a consistent reminder to acknowledge & appreciate the mountains that we get to call home.

As population increases in our home state, more families & homes will be threatened by wildfires if we don’t take action on cleaning up the Colorado forest.

We’re on a mission to clean up as many dead trees from the forest to protect homes & families from the threat of wildfires while prioritizing a healthy, thriving forest ecosystem for generations to come.
