We feel very fortunate to be able to work in beautiful settings like Pole Creek Preserve located just outside of Fraser, CO. The beautiful mountain setting overlooking the continental divide of the Fraser Valley is 2nd to none!
In this project, we focused efforts on removing lodge pole pine trees inside Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the Home Ignition Zones (according to Firewise fuel reduction standards.)
Our clients wanted to reduce ladder fuels around their home such as juniper bushes, slash piles, dead trees, and branches.
We reduced the understory ladder fuels with our state of the art forestry mulching machine by masticating the trees 4” and under into a fine mulch on the forest floor.
While removing the ladder fuels with the forestry mulcher, we focused on grinding stumps down below the ground surface from previous logging activities.
After we mulched the understory, our specialized team of tree removal experts felled 40 trees from inside the home ignition zone 1 & 2.
This project required the use of special rigging techniques to fell hazardous trees within falling distance of the home.
We are proud of our trusted arborist for removing these trees safely from within the 10’ radius of the home.
The remaining trees were also directionally felled by chainsaw and ground sawyer to ensure every tree was removed safely from this beautiful Fraser Valley mountain home.
After felling the trees, we removed the branches from each tree to place inside our chipper.
All slash and branches were chipped on site and broadcast evenly to create a beautiful (carpet like) finish on the understory of this 35 acre property.
Each log was stacked nicely on the driveway to ensure easy access for our log truck driver.
All 40 logs were loaded and hauled offsite to season for 3 years before being resold for firewood.
